Berkeley Place was founded by Nick Cryer in Summer 2009, initially targeting independent schools and prestigious residential development opportunities. Very quickly, a series of high-quality residential and commercial construction and development opportunities followed.
Since then we have successfully completed over 200 projects.

MEET THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
Nick is a chartered engineer with over 30 years experience in property and construction. Starting on site in contracting Nick progressed into consultancy where he led high profile construction projects for some of the world’s leading property developers; Canary Wharf Group, Hammerson Plc and Lendlease, culminating in a position on the UK board of WSP Group Plc.
In 2002 Nick established a new regional office for global cost and project management consultants EC Harris LLP, leading consulting initiatives throughout the UK and Europe as a senior partner and latterly, in the role of Head of Commercial Development for the Group.
In 2009 Nick formed the property and construction company Berkeley Place.
Nick sits on the board of various charitable institutions, guiding their property and investment decision process.

Alex has in excess of 20 years experience in the construction and property market. Initially working on enhancement of a portfolio of high value period property for a HNWI, in London.
Alex then progressed into high quality commercial and retail design and construction delivery, for a leading UK wide Design and Build operator. This included the redevelopment of Chancery House, in Chancery Lane, London for a multi national advertising organisation. In addition, Alex led the delivery of the renovation of The Marlborough Tavern, an award winning gastro pub in Bath.
In 2012, Alex joined Berkeley Place to lead the delivery of high profile renovation and property enhancement projects. Most notably, Sand House in Wedmore, The Old Rectory, Chelvey, Stonecrop, Newton Ferrers, Devon and more recently, Havard House in Clifton.

Tom has over of 20 years’ experience operating in the South West construction and property market, with particular expertise in the area of Project and Cost Management. Tom’s career began working for a leading multidisciplinary construction consultancy in Devon, where he acted in the capacity of cost manager for a number of nationwide projects. Following a move in 2009, Tom focussed his attention firmly within the residential sector, managing a wide variety of award winning high-end residential schemes, large scale apartment blocks, to one off ‘Grand Design’ type residences, from inception to completion. In doing so, Tom has occupied a number of senior leadership roles at one of the UK’s leading international cost and project management businesses including, Residential Sector Head and Head of Due Diligence.
Tom has an acute understanding of the local and regional construction markets and has established a well-deserved reputation for the high quality service he consistently delivers.

Beth is an experienced interior designer with more than ten years’ industry experience working in a variety of environments including multi-discipline architecture firms and Top 100 interior design practices.
Starting her career in an architectural practice, gaining experience in interior design, planning applications and architectural layouts, as well as getting a good understanding of planning, construction processes and limitations, and the importance of budget balancing. These key skills have been invaluable in her subsequent work.
Cutting her teeth in the high-end world of interior design in Surrey and the Cotswolds, Beth built up fantastic knowledge of interior products and the fabulous companies who supply them.
In 2016 Beth set up her own Interior design firm Honeycomb Interior, which is successfully still creating beautiful interiors for both private and commercial clients.
This unique skillset and experience is proving extremely valuable to Berkeley Place clients.

Kate is a Business and Management graduate who started her property career at one of the UK’s leading residential developers – Taylor Wimpey, where she was responsible for client liaison and contractor coordination. Prior to moving into the property sector, and having excelled in business and economics, Kate gained valuable experience across various sector areas at global consultancy EY.
Kate’s skill set, adds an increasingly valuable dimension to the Berkeley Place service offer.
