York Place
Berkeley Place was appointed to undertake the sensitive renovation of a Grade II Listed townhouse in the UNESCO World Heritage City of Bath. The project required a careful balance between preserving the building’s historic character while creating an elegant contemporary home.

Working closely with Nash Partnership and Bath and North East Somerset’s Conservation Team, Berkeley Place coordinated every aspect of the project to satisfy Listed building requirements while protecting the property’s historic fabric.
The renovation also demanded close collaboration with a London-based interior designer, integrating their preferred bespoke joinery specialists alongside Berkeley Place’s own trusted craftsmen. Through careful planning and proactive management, the entire team delivered a seamless, high-quality finish.
Working with an exceptional client, Berkeley Place delivered the project within a tightly controlled budget and demanding programme, while coordinating works alongside a separate Listed building consent for a future kitchen extension. Careful sequencing ensured the renovation supported the next phase without unnecessary cost or disruption.
Through meticulous project management, disciplined cost control and exceptional craftsmanship, the completed home combines contemporary detailing, bespoke finishes and modern living with the elegance, character and architectural integrity of one of Bath’s finest historic listed townhouses.
