7 Litfield Place

Berkeley Place was appointed to restore and renovate 7 Litfield Place, one of Clifton’s finest Grade II Listed residences. The commission followed a recommendation from the client’s private bankers, who had admired the exceptional standards achieved during Berkeley Place’s renovation of the adjoining No. 6 Litfield Place.

Working seamlessly with leading London-based interior designers, heritage architects and specialist structural and building services engineers, Berkeley Place carefully balanced the preservation of the property’s historic significance with the creation of an elegant contemporary home.

A key technical challenge was the installation of a six-storey passenger lift, facilitated by excavating two additional basement levels beneath the existing structure. These complex structural works demanded meticulous planning, an exceptional understanding of construction inside heritage buildings and close collaboration with the design team to protect the integrity of the Listed building.
