Originally built circa 1915, as a warehouse by the famous American magician Chung Ling Soo, best known for his signature act ‘Defying the Bullets’, he used the property for stage prop storage before transporting to London’s West End. Since then, the property was converted into a light manufacturing warehouse and then poorly converted into flats.

An essential part of the brief from our client was to maximise every opportunity to introduce natural light, improve access to the roof terrace which offered breathtaking views, retain as much exposed original brickwork, while introducing essential energy improvement measures. Time, Cost and Quality dynamics were a given!

Since the client was mainly abroad, very clear and continuous communication coupled with solutions driven narrative was essential, from advice around acquisition and budgeting to cost control, day-to-day project delivery management and handover.

It now sits as a fabulous family home, full of natural daylight, exposed brickwork, natural stone and timber finishes, including a stunning steel staircase leading to an amazing roof terrace with views across the Capital.
